  First a bit of history: I did family practice for thirty-five years, starting in the late 1950's. During that time, I almost never sent a patient to a physiotherapist, because I wasn't convinced they could be helpful.
Recently I've had two minor strokes, fortunately with no paralysis. My balance was severely affected. I was only able to walk bent over with my feet spread wide apart using a cane. I was referred to Stacy at Desert Palms Physical Therapy and Movement Studio. After the first session, I came out walking upright without a cane. With continued therapy, my balance has improved remarkably and my posture is better than it has ever been. I find that the physical therapists there are superbly trained and dedicated and I strongly recommend them.

Maybe it's a wonderful evening at a new restaurant where the food and the service are so superlative, that we tell all our friends about it. Or maybe it's a wonderful adventure to a faraway place, where all of our travel plans met our expectations.
I recently had one of those exceptional experiences in health care. With many "crises" in our health care delivery system, it was a refreshing change for the better. I believe we are all looking for, and trusting that we will receive, competence, caring, and follow through when it comes to health care.
The care I am referring to is with Bruce Franke, a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist in Physical Therapy. He is the owner of Desert Palms Physical Therapy at 7400 N La Cholla, right across from Foothills Mall.
Had I known several years ago what I now know about the therapy and prevention of "aches and pains" in joints (which most of us after age 50 certainly have), I would have started with Bruce long ago. I truly believe that with the correct diagnosis, treatment, "homework" and a truly caring team of physical therapists who really "walk the talk", that I can delay or even avoid hip surgery. I further believe that many of us can delay or avoid many expensive and invasive medical procedures by early and preventive therapies. I am grateful for what Bruce has done for me and highly endorse him to you for "what ails you."
